The maintenance of our roughs is evolving

Ecological management of rough areas

We have recently adopted a more environmentally-friendly approach to the maintenance of our rough areas furthest from your ball drop.

Aware of current environmental issues, we decided to reduce the use of intensive watering and chemical treatments on our courses. This transition to more natural management has led to an increase in biodiversity, with the appearance of various plants such as “weeds” and daisies.

This approach does not represent a relaxation of our commitment to the quality of our courses, but rather a stance in favour of a responsible ecological transition. We firmly believe that this approach will help to make the golf industry as a whole more environmentally virtuous.

As a result, our course is adorned with flowers in spring and retains its beauty even in late summer, while helping to preserve our local ecosystem.

Our commitment to biodiversity

Promoting biodiversity on our golf course is at the heart of our commitment to the environment. By allowing nature to take its course in our rough areas, we encourage the growth of a wide variety of plants and natural habitats. This creates an ecological balance that allows local wildlife to flourish, including pollinating insects, birds and other wildlife.

The presence of this biodiversity not only contributes to the health of our ecosystem, but also enriches the playing experience for our golfers. As they walk along our fairways, they have the opportunity to observe nature in all its splendour, adding an extra dimension to their game of golf. What’s more, this environmentally-friendly approach strengthens our link with the local community, making Golf de la Grande Bastide a committed player in the preservation of nature and biodiversity.
